Local author and historian Jim Bissland joins the CW150 presentation circuit with a powerful and local look at the Civil War. Most of us think of the past as is if it were another country--but it isn't. It's our country and we need to go looking for its people, because they have stories to tell: amazing and inspiring stories that can help us understand who we are. We only have to listen. Bissland is the author of "Blood, Tears, and Glory: How Ohioans Won the Civil War." He has two degrees in history as well as a doctorate in mass communication studies. He was born and raised in New England, but has lived in Bowling Green since 1976. He is a writer and associate professor of journalism emeritus at Bowling Green State University.
