Born in Grand Rapids, Ohio, in 1910, Dominick Labino was an artist, engineer, inventor, and co-founder of the "studio glass movement." He received 60 patents throughout the United States and foreign countries, and is remembered for his development of glass fibers, glass paper, and furnace design.
