  • Join the Northwest Ohio Blacksmiths for their annual open forge Demonstration day out at the Blacksmith Shop in the Boomtown area of the Wood County Historical Center.

  • Costumed interpreters welcome the public to watch or lend a hand while they ready the cabin with pre-summer preparations and window re-glazing.

  • POWER OF YESTERYEAR TRACTOR SHOW & DEMONSTRATION DAY | Wood County Historical Center

  • Sunday, June 4 | 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • FREE Family Event.
  • Tractor display and farm hand tools. Farm-themed demonstrations to include corn shelling, plowing, tillage work, and on Sunday a planting demonstration of soybeans in the west field. Be sure to register your tike for the popular kiddie pedal pull Saturday or Sunday. Oil Derrick and Blacksmithing Demonstrations too. Museum open 1-4 both days with free admission.

  • AMATEUR RADIO DEMONSTRATION DAY | Wood County Historical Center Boom Town Area
  • 2:00 PM Saturday, Jun 24 - 2:00 PM Sunday, June 25
  • FREE Family Event.
  • The Wood County Amateur Radio Club (WCARC) will hold their annual Field Day event in the Boom Town area of the museum grounds beginning at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 24, and if weather permits, through the night until Sunday at 2:00 PM.
  • Wood County Commissioner's Procolation: 3:00 PM Saturday
  • Field Day is a nationwide exercise sponsored by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) as a means to practice emergency communication procedures by setting up amateur (ham) radio stations in remote areas using temporary antennas and emergency power. In the event of a disaster, hams are ready and able to set up communication facilities on short notice almost anywhere.

  • We welcome the Petroleum History Institute's 2017 symposium with a special demonstration day surround Wood County's oil & gas boom. Museum open 1-4 with free admission.

  • CABIN FEVER DEMONSTRATION DAY : GERMAN CHRISTMAS | Wood County Historical Center Log Cabin
  • December 2 | 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • FREE Family Event
  • Stop by the Historical Center Log Cabin to visit with costumed interpreters and partake in German-influenced Christmas traditions. Make your own Victorian ornament and help decorate the Christmas tree. Museum open 1-4 with free admission.
  • Dress appropriate for the weather, especially footwear and outerwear. Program may be cancelled or altered due to weather.
